Long Description
Sekichan Teng, a Sekichan farmer, has invested million ringgits in establishing the low-carbon chicken barn in the area of Sekichan. The barn is located in outskirt and is home to 30,000 breeding birds and 3,000 roosters, who are free to move around a temperature-controlled rearing shed powered by solar energy.
The temperature in which the chickens are raised is carefully regulated and maintained between 23°C and 24°C during raining season, while it can reach a maximum of 26°C in summer.
Sekichan Teng, who already owns two farms located at north province of Cambodia, has added a new farm to his holdings. With this latest investment, his stock of birds has increased to over 100,000. However, this is his first endeavor into off-grid farming that utilizes solar power.
